Our fast-growing Blockchain client is seeking a Head of Research to focus on problems related to cryptoeconomics, monetary economics, consumer psychology and mechanism design. The role: You will influence the incentive structure within a payment network, design experiments to test mechanisms and onboard new users, develop mindshare within academic and blockchain communities, and represent the company in publications and public forums. You will work with high-profile economists who act as advisors to the company, and you will be our resident expert with respect to several fast-moving topics within the blockchain space. What you'll do: Design and manage a live test economy Provide thought leadership in growing adoption: Publish blog content on a monthly basis, explaining and advocating for the model. Our novel microfluidic platform allows us to probe individual cells to quantify the mechanical signatures of disease, as published in PNAS and Science Translational Medicine . Successful candidates will work well in a fast-paced startup environment, demonstrate a hands-on and can-do attitude, embrace new challenges, enjoy collaborative efforts and peer coaching, have experience working on regulated medical device embedded software products. More information at . Responsibilities Support embedded software development and system integration test. Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of software related issues. Collaborate cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams. Write software based off of system requirements. Peer review software written by team members. Support development/documentation of design history files for the FDA submission. Triage/fix issues identified in the field, and provide product enhancement input. Qualifications Prior industry experience in embedded software development. Proven track record of shipping products, preferably medical devices. Proficient in in C or C++ and scripting languages like Python or shell. Experience with board bring-up, filesystem partitioning, bootloaders, and system initialization. A strong understanding of object-oriented design and architecture. Good understanding of GPIO, peripherals, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, McASP/McBSP, DMA connected devices. Extensive debugging skills, must have used JTAG and debuggers. Strong HW / SW bringup and debugging skills. Capable of working independently in a hardware lab with oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies and other test equipment. Be able to read and understand a schematic. Ability to design circuits a plus, but not mandatory. Prior positions having experienced regulated design control development, such as ISO 9001. Excellent communication skills and ability to speak and write clearly and accurately, particularly as it relates to technical concepts.
