Job Description Position Description: Develop project scopes based on a clear understanding of the stated process goals and established KPIs through the capital process and project implementation. Manage and directs multiple assigned projects. The costs can range from a very low capital to multi-million dollar project. Ensure good engineering and design practices are utilized in all areas supported. Design with best engineering practice , which is different with every case but is a blend of meeting or exceeding design parameters at the best cost based upon a number of factors including but not limited to available budget, time to install, ease of operation, etc. Develop preliminary proposals for future management decisions. Assisting staff in evaluating manufacturing process by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators. Assist staff in developing manufacturing process to improve efficiencies by studying product requirements, analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout; researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods to seek reduction in manufacturing costs. Integrating new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes. Verify with engineering principles and calculations that the intended project is sound and the correct way to proceed. Projects will be discussed with the requesting individuals, departments, team assigned to the project (if applies) and your supervisor before submitting a project for approval. Projects are expected to be performed on scope, on budget and on time. Implementing process designs, creating prototypes, testing, making necessary modifications where required and commissioning the process. Develop equipment/facilities layouts for ongoing capital projects needs. Provide and or collaborate with designers on detailed equipment designs for capital projects. Develop designs to meet all building codes, safety, and OSHA standards, as well as adhering to good engineering practices. Provide clear and accurate designs for bidding, fabrication, and construction purposes. Prepare all drawings using acceptable drafting standards/techniques. Assist in the development of Best Practices Standards in the area of system controls. Prepare specifications for the purchase of manufacturing process equipment and materials. Identify opportunities working with equipment manufacturers, operations, marketing and sourcing. Develop with designer s equipment layouts and product management data to collaborate with stakeholders and to seek input from other team members. Demonstrate an understanding of peripheral systems and the effect of the capital improvement on supporting systems. Assisting accounting staff in completing capital project IRR using established and revised Key Process Indicators. Insure that safety and ergonomics are integral to all project designs. Qualifications Position Requirements: 4 year technical degree (preferably in an engineering discipline) with 1-3 years experience in Poultry Plant production involving project management 3-5 years of manufacturing project management experience Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent. Must be able to adapt to the current software in use within a reasonable amount of time determined by mutual agreement. Strong developed knowledge of ICC, OSHA, and USDA requirements. Sound knowledge of system requirements for manufacturing processes Strong background and knowledge of the construction trades and project management Sound judgment and decision making as well as good methodical problem solving skills Must be able to communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team leads, both written and verbal. Provide reports, maintain files and records related to projects, attend meetings Travel will be required. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and execute tasks in a changing and demanding work environment. Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
