CGI: An employer of choice Position Description CGI Federal is seeking an experienced Migration Delivery Consultant looking for an opportunity to join an emerging technologies practice focused on delivering cloud solutions and services for the premiere cloud service providers.The Migration Delivery Consultant has the primary responsibility of managing technical deployments within an enterprise hybrid cloud model, applying agile methodologies for product and services deployment across multiple types of clouds. The Migration Delivery Consultant leads project-based teams comprised of cloud architects, cloud engineers, application teams, and developers to translate client IT strategic goals, roadmaps, and business requirements into future state architectures, designed to leverage the cutting edge functionality delivered through commercial and private cloud service providers. The candidate for this role is highly efficient in deploying cloud services and technologies through sprint driven schedules and waterfall methodologies. The candidate also has solid experience in managing client relations from engineers to executives and is looked at as the go-to for migration strategy and approach. The Migration Delivery Consultant role works closely with the technical members through the transformation lifecycle of a migration translating cloud solutions into executable sprints and project schedules. The candidate has familiarity with scripting, automation, infrastructure as code, and DevOps principles to strengthen their communication with the technical teams and clients. To support our comprehensive transformation lifecycle, the candidate ideally has experience guiding clients with their modernization effort in cloud adoption and establishing hybrid release management strategies for on-prem, private and public cloud environments. The candidate has worked on migration projects for enterprise applications as well. The candidate has experience using Cloud Service Provider (CSP) native tools managing on-prem-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud deployments. This candidate is passionate about taking on a client's mission as a driver for managing people, timelines, and tasks in order to deliver dynamic deployments that continue to evolve in method and strategy. The Migration Delivery Consultant is also integral in participating in our Cloud Broker Office (CBO) helping to drive policy and procedure around cloud governance. As a member of the CBO, the candidate manages cloud account onboarding, managed services onboarding, and transitions into service delivery. The role participates in the critical function of procedurally managing the deployment of secure environments designed from a security framework tailored for a defense-in-depth approach in the cloud.
The candidate seeks to be an integral part of the cloud delivery team by participating in continuous improvement planning. -Lead migrations into AWS or Azure using both waterfall and agile project management skills to deliver rapid deployments of cloud infrastructure.
-Coordinate architecture reviews for Azure or AWS cloud account deployments working closely with Cloud Architects to guide clients through migration solution design and onboarding activities.
-Leverage previous experience to assess business, technical, and security standards requirements to guide development of client specific solutions
-Participate in designing cloud migration strategies with a security first approach for hosted, or outsourced, architectures with a fundamental understanding of the underlying cloud infrastructure services and technologies (e.g., IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
-Ensure products and services are delivered within schedule, scope and budget and meet the required level of quality.
-Create best practice detailed migration plans utilizing work breakdown structure to establish critical path, agreed upon milestones/deliverables, and resource plans according to the cloud migration strategy
-Prepare executive reports and present to Senior IT Management/Stakeholders (both client and internal) in a highly effective way to ensure alignment and support, as well as to build confidence in the execution team and our customers
-Lead identification and management of risks at all levels, actions, and issues through proactive communication and collaboration with stakeholders and various teams
-Lead rapid migration approaches for cloud based solutions leveraging standardized processes.
-Lead one or more teams of 10+ consultants in delivering internal or external client-facing solutions through an agile project management
-Lead Steady State Hand-Off activities utilizing previous experience in service delivery management of operations support for hosted applications
-Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
-Establish critical client and internal relations to navigate opposition to change using emotional intelligence and superb proactive communication skills
-Expertly manage resources - people/process/systems - for the greater good of the organization and customers
-Establish accountability for all key members delivering to milestones and deliverables
-Bridge the gap between the Pre-Sales Engagement Manager and the Account Manager / Service Delivery Manager
-Stand up project content management sites in Confluence and Jira to managed tasks, documentation, and project management dashboards
-Create or support the development of metrics or KPIs and the respective dashboards within Jira to continuously report on the project status and progress Governance
-Work closely with Business Engineering and other business units to facilitate adherence to policies and procedure in the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of cloud services
-Collaborate with Architects & Engineering and Service Delivery members in the continuous monitoring of cloud best practice compliance aligning to Federal security standards, such as NIST 800-53.
-Adhere to the CGI Transition ITIL and CMMI based processes and standards for delivering consistent quality of service
-Ensure your program/projects are auditable (CGI quality processes applied).
-Proactively participate in continuous improvement activities. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Working knowledge of waterfall methodology and work breakdown structures in order to translate into sprints and agile methodologies
Active secret clearance or has the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
Experience with the Azure Public and/or Government Clouds
Experience with security governance in a managed cloud environment adhering to government security standards.
Manage technical projects of 5+ members spanning cross-services internally and externally.
Minimum of 5 years IT industry experience, with 3+ years in a Program or Project Management role
Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience applying agile practices, through methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
Bachelor's Degree in management information systems, computer science, informatics, or other related technical discipline Due to the nature of government contract, US citizenship is required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS SAFe Certification, Scrum Alliance CSM, or other agile certification
AWS and/or Azure certifications
- Experience with cloud native and third party migration tools
- Experience with Atlassian suite tools (Jira, Confluence)
- 3+ years of management experience within federal civilian or defense IT programs, as a government contractor and/or employee
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
