Description As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for leading cost initiatives for Blue Origin engines. This includes identification of new manufacturing approaches design approaches and commercial opportunities to reduce recurring costs. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities * Development and adoption of a Cost Reduction Plan to achieve a target product cost for a Blue Origin Engine, from within the Cost Engineering team. * Identification of major cost drivers within the rocket engine design, and maintenance of a living model that showing constituent elements of cost. * Deploy and maintain a cost Technical Performance Metric (TPM), and drive the engine to improved cost performance through application of this TPM. * Document a strategy to develop cost opportunities on a Blue Origin engine, prioritizing the time to market on the largest impact projects first. * Develop a database of cost opportunities for a given Blue Origin engine. * Create and maintain a Cost Reduction Plan to achieve target cost reductions through strategic implementation of cost opportunities. * Develop project plans necessary to implement cost reduction opportunities on a given engine model, characterizing the support levels needed from a cross-functional team. * Support the adoption and execution of the Cost Reduction Plan, working with the Engine project management team. * Provide detailed consulting on system level product cost, working with the cost engineering team to inform the system cost with detailed component should-cost estimation. * Assist in establishing time-phased Cost Reduction Targets for Blue Origin engines. Required_Qualifications * Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! * Senior Project Management experience within the Aerospace industry, with demonstrated track-record of indirect team leadership. * Experience leveraging complex estimating/pricing models and cost management tools * Strong communication and data analytics skills with experience presenting to company executives * Experience with aerospace propulsion system engineering design, manufacturing and commercial projects. * B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or Aerospace engineering * 10 or more years of experience with aerospace propulsion system design and fabrication. * Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired_Qualifications * 5+ years of direct experience managing aerospace machining, aerospace castings/forgings, and additive manufacturing processes * Experience developing complex estimating/pricing models and cost management tools * Master s in Business Administration, Cost Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related business field.
