Business Group Highlights DefenseThe Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions. ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will support a new program at Perspecta, focused on Mission integration of a new Space Domain architecture. Tasks include assessing the capabilities planned for Satellite Vehicle, Ground and User segments, and how these interact with each other and then developing and implementing a plan to ensure that the combined system will be able to support the mission capabilities. Mission operations (demo and other flight test planning) has a direct interface with the Warfighter and brings together these capabilities (COMM Transport, OPIR, Ground C2), mesh network capabilities, low-latency high-bandwidth optical link capabilities, network management, tactical communications, mission planning, and the DoD elements already conducting critical warfighter missions. The selected Systems Architect work with the stakeholders (Segment Contractors, Users, Partners) to define operational details, lower-level use cases (mission elements or components), requirements, interfaces, and controlling documents; develop Space Domain architectural and technical schematics showing interactions (e.g., operational functions, data, physical connections, and timing) among space segments (Space, Ground, User) and their various elements; Develop information mapping mission capabilities to System and Segment requirements and verification activities. General Description: Applies technical knowledge to assist clients in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems, network challenges, or system administration issues. Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework. Incorporates engineering strategies for introducing new technology into the customer's infrastructure related to its business processes of collection, analysis, production, and dissemination. Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components. Applies knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture. QualificationsRequires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.Two or more years proven experience delivering architecture design support to a Systems Engineering program.Requires experience with Cameo modeller or similar architecture modelling tool.Some travel expected to Chantilly, VA, Government site or vendor sites.Requires a minimum TS clearanceAbout PerspectaWhat matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
