Job Description

What youll be doing... The Lead Oracle DBA is responsible for the day-to-day database management of Verizons MSS infrastructure. This infrastructure is used 24x7 to monitor and manage the cyber security of our customers. You will join a DBA team that stays on top of recent database administration developments. In this role, you will interact on a daily basis with other departments like development and the operational team.Responsibilities:Provides technical and functional support for database monitoring, database installation, database configuration, database administration, troubleshooting techniques, performance tuning and application system updates.Works as a team member with senior technical staff on large, complex technical projects.Completes assigned technical projects on time (e.g., analysis, designing, development, implementation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, production support, documentation, etc.).Analyzes problems, develops and implements solutions.Resolves escalated complex issues within the established timeframes while providing quality customer service.Proactively monitors and controls all directives to ensure quality and efficiency.What were looking for... You'll need to have:Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience.Four or more years of relevant work experience.Oracle DBA administration and/or programming experience.Knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c.Ability to obtain and maintain government sponsored security clearance.Ability to work occasional off hours as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.Even better if you have:Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science / MIS field.Experience with Oracle Enterprise Grid Control 12cExperience with LinuxExperience with SQL and PL/SQLExperience with Unix shell scriptingOracle Certified Professional preferredExperience with Oracle StreamsEnterprise storage experience, like NetAppAbility to follow strict proceduresin installation, documentation, event handling, and change controlAbility to adapt to changing goals based on customer demands and market conditionsAbility to learn new technologies quickly and have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to build positive working relationships with internal and external users and customersExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalWhen you join Verizon...
