Acts as the escalation point for the team to resolve issues and resource needs while managing day to day activities of the team.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:Collaborate with leadership in defining and enforcing coding standards as well as conduct code reviews with team members to ensure adherence and consistency.Act as Subject Matter Expert in the Software Engineering team for these technologies and the related industry standard development methodologies (SDLC):JD Edwards toolset including but not limited to OMW (Object Management Workbench), Data Dictionary, Data Structure Design, Processing Options, TDA (Table Design Aid)FDA (form design aid), RDA (Report Design Aid), Event Rules, System Functions and APIsNER and C BSFNs (Business Functions)Familiarity with JD Edwards modules including Financial, Distribution, Sales Order Management, Inventory ManagementResearching, applying and testing JD Edwards ESUsJD Edwards Security configuration and best practicesCore programming languages such as Java, C or C++ BI PublisherJD Edwards version upgrades or toolset upgradesInterfacing with third party middleware tools , including related analysis, mapping and configurationPreferred knowledge in the following areas:JD Edwards Business Services (BSSV) processing and developmentJD Edwards Real-Time Events (RTEs)LinuxJD Edwards E1 Pages, OneView Reporting and Power FormsServer Manager and CNC processesMulti-language and Vocabulary OverridesAutomated Testing SoftwareMonitor and troubleshoot application performance and adjust or make recommendations as appropriate.Support Software Engineers on their project work by reviewing software design, testing outcomes or other engineering analyses, as needed.Review and approve technical specs for any code related to primary area of expertise.Prioritize requests concerning application issues and/or enhancements and work closely with Business Analysts and users to clarify business requirements and design solutions appropriately.Review and approve deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications use cases, test cases, test results, and support training needs of business with testing documentation etc.Review and approve work estimates and work schedules and update project plans with status.Ensure that all duties by the Software Engineering Team follow the processes used for Issue and Problem Management, System Change Control, IT Governance, Time Tracking and Status Report processes.Lead the Software Engineering team in the analysis, design and management of tasks and resources needed to execute a project.Monitor project deliverables, milestones and required tasks and helps determine priority, scope, time frames, costs, risks and staffing requirements for projects.Direct the team to provide level 2 & 3 support for all Martin-Brower functions with primary focus on MB ERP applications while assisting Software Engineers with development and support projects as needed.Provide off-hours support on a rotating basis as necessary.Other projects or duties as assigned.Position Requirements:Required Skills and Experience:Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplineExperience with JDEdwards EnterpriseOne supporting ERP applications in a wholesale or distribution environment with multiple distribution centers and 24/7 operations.8-10 years experience in a development role, to include:Working with JD Edwards or a comparable ERP software suiteDeveloping and supporting applicationsSupporting applications on least one primary database systemReviewing, translating and refining business requirements into a technical design, code and test logicMaking recommendations based upon the analysis of business requirements2+ years experience managing teams working on multiple projects.Experience investigating and troubleshooting performance issues, including review of databases, indexes, and OS interaction, in order to give direction to in-house and managed service providers supporting the technologies.Experience working with a best practice SDLC and support process approach (e.g. ITIL, UML) within a formal software change control process.Experience working in a matrixed and global team environment with an established pattern of working independently, creating and meeting reasonable deadlines, and accepting responsibility for his or her actions while respecting individuals and their role within the organization.Continued technical growth demonstrating in depth knowledge of 2 or more applications or technologies, with the aptitude and desire to expand this knowledge within those systems as well as new systems or technologies as driven by business requirements.Excellent verbal communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen and to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and in presentations to groups.Excellent written communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to clearly, concisely, and persuasively compose correspondence and narrative reports which communicate messages consistent with company policy to both internal and external audiences, using appropriate tone, grammar, and word usage.This position must pass a post-offer background and drug
