Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic Design Build Architectural Manager in our growing Design Build Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes Architecture, structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, MEP and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.

As the Senior Design Architectural Manager, you will lead the strategy development on future infrastructure facility projects and assist in the delivery of current projects. You will work with other leaders across Kiewit to advance the technical and business applications of the infrastructure facilities and transit architecture practice.

You will join our dynamic, growing team of designers and architects. The Senior Design Manager will further develop and drive the firm's design philosophy as it relates to infrastructure facilities across North America. You will be responsible for the overall creative direction of the group by continually improving department workflow, processes, and systems. You will be a leader in the design transit facilities and stations, infrastructure support facilities, bridge structures and supporting aviation infrastructure.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineerings Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. This position is based out of Woodcliff, NJ

Responsibilities

Leads and manage technical teams for assigned design disciplines during a strategy development, pursuit or final design projects

Responsible for completion of project design tasks within architecture and engineering disciplines, in accordance with project design criteria and project management plans

Ensures Kiewits Standard Operating Procedures are communicated and followed

Controls cost of the design and all architecture & engineering services

Manages quantities and constructability throughout the design process for assigned design discipline

Has the flexibility to work within multiple design discipline

Monitors and reports progress against design schedule

Partners with design discipline lead and construction estimator/superintendent to meet project objectives

Mentor junior staff with technical and professional development

Design quality management plan champion for the engineering design team

Develop project budgets, schedules and staffing plans for KIE final design projects

Manages relationships with facility owners and operators.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or greater in Architecture or Engineering.

AIA licensure with a minimum of ten (15) years of experience designing and leading major infrastructure facilities and/or architecture projects in the eastern US and nationally.

Proven experience in transit related project delivery is required; and experience in delivery of projects in other transportation service sectors (rail & transit, aviation and ports) is desired.

5 or more years of managing an architecture/engineering and design team of at least 5 or more

Strong organizational and time management skills

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

Strong work ethic and willing to do what it takes to get the job done

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment

The ability to travel if needed
