The RTX Special Programs and Space Mission Analysis Engineering organization is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support diverse portfolio of Space programs and new business pursuits. RTX needs a Systems Engineer who brings hands-on experience in space systems-related model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and is comfortable with both agile development methods and geographically dispersed teams. At RTX, the Systems Engineer (SE) is given the opportunity to contribute directly and substantively to technical performances of all Systems Engineering activities including engineering decisions impacting system development, integration, verification, and work products delivery while ensuring the product meets technical specifications, operational requirements and customer expectations. The SE will support the generation and management of artifacts associated with a Technical Baseline which include Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs) / Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), operational views, architectures, compliance matrices, system specifications, interface requirements specifications and system designs. SE responsibilities include:
--- Aiding with the generation and management of artifacts associated with a Technical Baseline which include Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs) / Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), operational views, concept of operations (CONOPS) architectures, compliance matrices, [system/segment/subsystem] specifications, interface requirements specifications and associated designs.
--- Support development and flow down of systems requirements, error budget trees, and mission- and system-level performance modeling, simulation and analysis
--- Support development of test strategies, verification plans, and test procedures
--- Integration of hardware and software
--- Support systems engineering products (e.g., studies, designs, analyses, reports, etc.) meet objectives/expectations
--- Creating technical presentations to both internal and external customers
--- Present at technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMs)
--- Communicating status, results, and recovery plans (if needed) to senior management
--- Support the Systems Engineering IPT to ensure flawless program execution
Required Skills:--- Minimum 2 years of industry experience
--- Experience being a part of technical teams
--- Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to program peers and leaders
--- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of Day 1 of Employment
--- Active TS clearance with SCI clearance
Desired Skills: Modeling and Simulation (M&S) of space systems, Proficient skills of M&S tool(s) e.g. STK Minimum of 1 year experience in space systems engineering, analysis, and/or verification Experienced in preparing and delivering briefings to technical and customer audiences Capable of effectively working in a team environment, often under tight deadlines
Required Education: BS degree in Science, Technology, Mathematics, Science or related STEM field and 2 years of prior relevant experience.
