Additional Work Location(s) :About the RoleThe Program Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of a large size telematics product development program involving the development of HW and device Software. This includes planning, scheduling, preparing and controlling the master schedule and requirements for the HW, SW, and Validation of the product and ensuring the product is delivered on time and with agreed quality.What You Will Do* Deliver the product including HW, SW & Validation on time and with agreed quality.* Plan, schedule, prepare and control the master schedule and requirements for the HW, SW, and Validation of the product.* Coordinate and liaise deliveries from all the program suppliers including internal and external stakeholders.* Be the primary contact for all the program internal and external stakeholders including customer program manager, internal SW&HW development teams, external vendor teams, device product, and business management teams.* Build and manage customer relationships and ensure that products are delivered with high quality.* Own and ensure that budget, scope, and program schedules are maintained in the programs. Ensure overall success and profitability of the projects i.e. work with finance and other teams to ensure projects are within operating margins.* Manage program\projects risk proactively; identify program risks and coordinate meetings with team and suppliers. Ensure that projects are reviewed diligently, and issues are prevented.* Adhere to project\product management processes and metrics to track and measure project success. (Manage all program/product delivery elements).* Ensure weekly program status updates are made using standard templates. Present program progress to Sr. Management during program quality & operational reviews.* Ensure process adherence to follow standard group and product development processes that follow SPICE level 3.* Set direction and influence cross-department engagement for all projects and drive synchronization across multiple project teams.What You Need* Bachelor's degree in Engineering.* 8 to 12 years overall experience, of which at least 3 years should be product delivery management experience.* 5+ years of project management experience.* Must have experience working on automotive and preferably telematics, systems, and their applications.* Experience with Android, Linux platform-based product development projects* Experience with Project Mgmt. tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Confluence, etc., and Defect Management tools such as JIRA.* Must be able to articulate vision and influence decision making outcomes with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and the customer.* Must have a "whatever-it-takes" attitude using diplomatic leadership skills within a collaborative teamwork environment to accomplish the necessary results.* Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative, and execution skills.* Expertise in driving complex cost reduction projects and program deliverables.* Business acumen.* Analytical thinking.* Drive for Results, Team Player, Change Orientation, Customer Focus, Self-Awareness.* Experience working with and managing distributed development teams.What is Nice to Have* Experience in CAN, UDS & J1939 protocol testing & simulation tools (CANoe) added advantage.* PMP or Prince 2 certification is of added value.* Experience in using the Defect tracking tool - ex: JIRA, Project management tools ex: confluence.What Makes You Eligible* Be willing to travel up to 10-15%, domestic and international travel for various project-related discussion with customers and vendors vehicle and software testing activities.* Be willing to work out of a Harman office in Michigan, USA.What We Offer* Access to employee discounts on world-class HARMAN products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, etc.)* Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University* Competitive wellness benefits* Tuition Reimbursement* Access to HARMAN Campus Fitness Center and Cafeteria* An inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development
