Who We AreWe are a part of Emerging Technologies and Incubation Group focused on identifying breakthrough emerging solutions that create new markets and businesses for Cisco. We incubate these new opportunities in partnership with our business groups, partners and other startups. The team also continues progress Cisco's important work with Standards bodies and manage research partnerships with leading-edge Universities.The Cisco Emerging Technology and Incubation team is looking for a hard-working Lab Administrator to support our global team's lab infrastructure and logistics. We are a geographically dispersed team with shared lab resources based in San Jose, CA, Paris France, and multiple smaller locations.We are looking for a lab administrator that will oversee our virtualization servers, network infrastructure, and physical lab space.What You'll Do* Managing, installing and troubleshooting lab related efforts.* You will be the point of contact for any lab related issues in San Jose.* You will maintain a virtualization infrastructure and perform upgrades, replacements and new installs.* You will track our network topology and assist with any network related requests.* You will work with some of the best technical minds at Cisco as we explore new ventures.* You will craftin and maintainin Lab Documentation* You will respond to outages and perform root cause analysis* You will enable the team to deploy and test a wide variety of solutions.Who You Are* You are a hardworking and passionate individual who enjoys teamwork, innovation and continues to improve.* Software Engineering/Computer Science/ Degree or equivalent plus any experience related with any of the following areas; VMware and/or Openstack virtualization, IP networking, Cisco UCS and Hyperflex servers.* A foundational understanding and hands-on technical experience with IP Communications network design, TCP/IP, and Quality of Service (QoS)* Excellent analytical, problem-solving and diagnostic skills* Ability to work independently* The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new products and technologies.* Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills* Lifting and rearranging heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds)Highly Desirable* Familiar with ESXi and vCenter Server and/or Openstack* Able to write scripts and automation (using Shell, Ruby, or Python)* CCIE* Familiar with public cloud, including AWS/Azure/GCPWhy Cisco#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses.
