Job Description

Myriad Neuroscience's Architecture Team is seeking a talented database developer to work as part of a team building state of the art applications utilizing cutting edge science and technology. As part of the architecture team, this position will be heavily involved in overall data architecture design relating to integrity, reliability, and scalability of databases for business applications. Additionally, they will have heavy involvement in transitioning data systems from an on-premise hosted environment to a cloud-based environment in Amazon Web Services.In the position of Database Developer, you will work closely with development teams to ensure overall good design of database systems. This person will report directly to the Principal Software Architect.This position is with the Neuroscience business unit located in Mason, OH.What you'll do:* Help to define the data architecture of the GeneSight platform as a part of the overall system architecture* Identify and recommend data technologies that may be incorporated into the system* Help to define strategy around transitioning the GeneSight platform to the cloud (AWS)* Work with development teams to identify database best patterns and practices and set them into motion* Provide operational support around data technologies* Help to improve efficiency of CI/CD pipelines using relevant database tools* Perform regular reviews of existing database servers and help prepare for future needs based on data growth trends* Develop, manage, and maintain data models in order to meet new and changing business requirements* Act as a subject matter expert for all of product developmentAbout you:* 5+ years of equivalent technical experience preferred* Strong knowledge of relational database platforms, such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL* Experienced in relational database performance monitoring and tuning* Experience working with Microsoft technologies* Knowledge of data archival and retention best practices* Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices* Willingness to step outside your comfort zone and explore the latest industry trends* Solid analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills* Excellent written and verbal communications skills* Ability to work effectively with others as well as independently* Ability to manage work assignments to meet deadlines under an aggressive schedule* Well organized and detail oriented* Flexible, innovative, and self-motivated* Experience with AWS a strong plus, especially with migrating data to the cloud and/or across platforms* Knowledge of JSON data types and/or non-relational platforms a plusMyriad Neuroscience provides informatics-based precision medicine and treatment decision support to healthcare providers for behavioral health.
