SENIOR FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER (APPLICATION SOFTWARE) We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help us build and maintain software solutions throughout SpaceX. All of us in Application Software are flexible engineers, capable of engineering at any level of the stack, driving projects, guiding products, operating our environments, handing support, and thoroughly testing changes. We organize ourselves internally to best attack problems and remove bottlenecks throughout the company. We are currently organized into the following groups: - The Build and Launch program is responsible for software that accelerates Dragon, Falcon, and Starship production. - The Build Reliability team is responsible for software that helps Build Reliability engineers within SpaceX make sure that what we build is durable, high quality, predictable, and safe. - The Operations team spends up to 50% of their time keeping our business unblocked by triaging issues that arise, mitigating, and resolving root causes accordingly. - The Starlink Constellation program is responsible for software that helps Starlink network operators manage our satellite constellation and ground networks. - The Starlink Consumer program is responsible for software that allows Starlink customers to get information about Starlink, order, track their shipment, and manage their account. - The Starlink Manufacturing program is responsible for software that accelerates the production of hardware for the Starlink network. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will engage with other SpaceX engineers to discover the needs of the mission and write software to turn the objectives of that mission into reality. You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the software you maintain: planning, development, testing, and support. Are you are a complete engineer? Dependable? Have technical chops? RESPONSIBILITIES: - Build highly reliable software solutions that may be used by users across SpaceX - Own all aspects of software engineering and product development - Act as a responsible engineer for various software products - Maintain highest standards of excellence, never settle for the status quo - Deep dive into your users' problems, find efficient solutions - Provide strong technical leadership, focus on continuous improvement - Seek out faults within our application suite or ERP suite and implement solutions to improve - Track usage of Applications and features and suggest/implement features to improve them BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 4 years of software development experience OR 6+ years of experience building software - 1+ years of experience in full stack development PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - 4+ years of rigorous experience building single page web applications - Expertise in designing software systems - Expertise in testing and infrastructure - Expertise in profiling and improving application performance ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be willing to work long hours and weekends as needed ITAR REQUIREMENTS: - To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
