Your peers would be experienced technologists with technical breadth and depth coupled with strong interpersonal skills. As a solutions architect, you will work with various Product and Engineering, cross functional teams at PayPal. A successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions to address complex business issues, and providing technical leadership.Responsibilities:Provide technical leadership, define architecture strategy and best practices work with in collaboration with Engineering and Product counterparts across the organizationLead multiple complex projects and support innovation in various subdomainsLead, Mentor and collaborate with engineers and managers and operations to ensure that systems meets reliability, accuracy, reusability and performance goalsPartner with Engineering to drive technology and product innovation as well as operational efficiency, through rapid prototyping, iterative developmentInnovate to improve efficiencies using state of the art technologies Collaborates with Cross functional team leads and get architecture agreements, and document them clearly, to effectively deliver solutions and projectsWork with remote geographies and cross functional teams to build quality and timely solutionsCreates reference implementation for our integrations, articulate developer challenges and propose backward compatible changes, participate in API design and review processDemonstrate good business acumenDemonstrate Customer Centricity for internal as well as external stakeholders Minimum Requirements10+ years of software engineering experience with 8+ years of architecting, designing and delivering enterprise-grade, distributed, mission-critical applicationsFluent in Web services technologies, Objected Oriented analysis and designA huge plus to be able to demonstrate experience and familiarity with JavascriptFluent in navigating build versus buy product and architecture evaluationsMultiple years in an architecture role within an Agile Product Development organizationPossess a proven track record of developing business vision, developing technical architectures to address that vision, and communicating that vision with technologists and Product Owners to make that vision a realityExhibit strong leadership and exceptional technical skillsPassionate about providing world-class solutions for internal employees and millions of customers across the worldPossess a track record of innovation and execution in a high-pressure environmentMake timely and high-quality decisions based on limited informationProficient using industry standards and technical expertise to establish best practices and strategic technical solutionsDeep understanding of Software Architecture and Design patternsWe're a purpose-driven company whose beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day.
