Our teams develops and maintains system software for our innovative ClearPath Master Control Program (MCP) line of secure mission-critical servers. Members of these teams work on system level programming including the secure MCP operating system kernel, TCP/IP and other networking software, and security software. They use a variety of languages such as Java, C, C++, and ALGOL. Our software executes on Windows, Linux, and the ClearPath MCP Operating System environments.Software Engineers will be involved in some phases of the product development life cycle from requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing, and support. The candidate will work on development efforts of gradually increasing scope using standard programming concepts and principles. This is a great position for individuals who are interested in system level programming and developing exciting, leading-edge technology for the world's largest enterprises.Responsibilities:* Learn existing platform, operating system, networking or security products* Research ways to improve software and/or system performance* Perform testing to determine viability of new approaches* Implement, test, and document approved approachesYou will be successful in this role if you have:Skills and experiences you will learn & apply:Education:* Currently enrolled or recently graduated with a degree in a Bachelor's of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline with a 2.8 GPA or higher* Theoretical or college projects related to programming languages* Prior work, intern, or co-op experience desired but not requiredTechnical Skills:* Experience working with one or more major programming languages* Strong programming skills* Strong knowledge of and interest in computer architecture and skills* Good software debugging and problem-solving skillsFunctional Skills:* Individuals who have a passion for technology and are driven by results* Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies* Strong team players with demonstrated strength in problem-solving* Self-starters able to learn and apply core skills in proprietary, Windows, or Open development environments* Good written and verbal communicators
