Ensures achievement of production goals.+ Manages safe work practices. Interprets company safety policies, procedures and regulations; familiarizes direct reports and team members. Ensures a safe working environment.+ Manages the in-production product inspections and audits; ensures adherence to quality standards.+ Reviews production and operating reports; resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize cost and operational delays.+ Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists team members in solving work problems. Troubleshoots unusual or difficult issues requiring coordination and communication across cross-functional departments; follows through with quality and/or process improvement.+ Develops, coaches and/or mentors direct reports and team members. Conducts departmental staff meetings and familiarizes team with established policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Communicates daily production performance and day-to-day issues. Interprets and ensures consistent application of company policies.+ Provides technical guidance to production team. Ensures timely and accurate implementation to changes.+ Prepares and monitors performance records; tracks KPI's.+ Conducts performance evaluations for direct reports, reviews for indirect; recommends salary adjustments; initiates and implements plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.+ Approves scheduled overtime and time-off, assists in employee grievances, takes disciplinary action as necessary, etc.+ Confers with management to coordinate activities between departments.+ Ensures established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met. Participates in budget development; implements and controls approved budgets.+ Participates and/or leads projects as assigned.+ May perform other duties as required.**Statement of Coverage**N/A**Scope of Responsibility**Somewhat independent; work frequently done independently by following practices and procedures while occasionally having work checked.+ Directly manages 6 - 10 supervisory employees, indirectly 60 - 100 production employees.+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Lance policies and applicable laws.+ Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.+ Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints.+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.+ Uses intuition and experience to complement data.+ Knowledgeable of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Internet software.**Education and Experience**Associates Degree; a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; a minimum of 2 years of which include supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.**Professional Licenses or Certifications**N/A**Physical Demands**The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel.
