Job Posting TitleSenior Game DesignerSummaryBig Fish Games is looking for a strong, dynamic game design generalist. You will work closely with game design teams of 2nd-party developers to level up free-to-play designs for a casual audience.Responsibilities Provide strategic input and direction for game(s) as a whole Contribute to the success of products by working to improve KPIs, collaborating with game leadership to plan features strategically Review and provide incisive feedback on game design proposals with a laser focus on player behavior goals Use input from research, data analysis, and other departments to deeply understand our customers and drive design decisions Collaborate with Product Managers to contribute to successful Live Ops strategies and execution Respectfully discuss and debate design proposals with the goal of surfacing the best solution for our customer and business Author design proposals for any possible aspect of mobile game design, including: overall metagame, progression and economy tuning, live events design, content extension and expansion, and social frameworks and interactions Build trusting relationships and effective processes with both internal and external teams Effectively communicate perceived risks and opportunities to stakeholders and development teams alikeQualifications Exceptional teamworker ability to gracefully set aside your own work in favor of equivalent proposals made by others for the sake of team unity or business goals Well-rounded game design skills, comfortable working at any level of abstraction from minute execution details to holistic player experience vision Experience owning game economies or aspects of game economies a plus Internalized sense of industry standard F2P monetization design practices and ability to create great monetization moments with game design Deep intuition for game design elegance: achieving high impact with low complexity Respectful, compelling negotiator with ability to lead discussion Flexible, amiable, and willing to provide support for different projects as needed Self-motivated and organized approach, always looking for opportunities to add valuePreferred Experience: 5+ years Mobile Game Design experience (with casual titles a plus) 2+ years Live Ops experience 3+ shipped titles / extensive campaigns Experience with 2nd-party or 3rd-party development a plusBig Fish Games is an equal-opportunity employer.
