Job Description

IT Specialist Systems AdministratorReports to: Sr. IT Manager Work Location: Holland, MIWe have an exciting opportunity for a problem solver, a change agent who is excited about quality and taking it to the NEXT level. The IT Specialist Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing and performing repairs to hardware, software and peripheral equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualizationInstall and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processesTroubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issuesProvide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructurePerform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresLead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptionsResponsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performanceConfer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users.Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.REQUIRED: Associates or Technical Degree, Bachelors preferred5+ years of help desk experience as a technician or support roleAbility to diagnose and resolve technical issuesTravel other Motus locations may be required from time to timeWorking knowledge of office automation products, databases and ticketing systemBehavioral Competencies Common to all Motus PositionsIntegrity Iron clad.
