Sr. Cyber Security Sustainment EngineerDescriptionAre you looking for an exciting,challenging and rewarding position supporting the cyber needs of our Nationshighest priority Missile Warning, Missile Defense and Space missions?Then look no further and join our NISSC II teamof cyber professionals!The NISSC IICyber team supports all facets of cybersecurity and cyber defense to ensure theaccurate, timely, and unambiguous warning and attack assessment of Air, Missileand Space threats to our Nationincluding visibility of National CommandAuthority (NCA) leaders and the President of the United States!As a member of our elite teamyou will be engaged in one of many facets of cybersecurity from cyber andsystem requirements definition, acquisition and compliance validation, tosystems security engineering design, development and integration, and/or thecreation and maintenance of authorization and assessment documentationnecessary to ensure our mission-critical systems maintain approval tooperate.Our mission and yourcontributions are vital to our National Security, and include direct support tothe North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), Northern Command(NORTHCOM), Homeland Defense,Strategic Command (STRATCOM) and United StatesSpace Force (USSF) Air, Missile, and Space Warning missions supported fromCheyenne Mountain, Offutt AFB, Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, Vandenberg AFB andforward user and sensor sites around the world.Coordinatesand provides technical guidance and leadership to a group engaged in supportingtechnical computer system design and operations. Coordinates and reviews workof others for techniques, procedures, and technical approach. Reviews thebuilding and/or debugging of hardware and software to identify and correctdifficult problems using technically advanced, problem-solving skills.Develops, modifies, and maintains complex computer system procedures.Interprets and analyzes processing anomalies for computer systems and takescorrective action.Oversees all test and installation of network/systemconnections, configures and debugs network/system equipment. Prepares andcritiques technical reports and memoranda. Assists management in definingcomputer system requirements and upgrades. Authorizes the selection of newcomputer equipment including hardware and software. Coordinates and schedulessystem upgrades and maintenance. Typically requires an AS degree in a computerfield and 8 years of related experience. Progressive and relevant education,training, and/or certification(s) may be substituted for a portion of thedegree and experience requirements.ResponsibilitiesProvide cybersecurity engineering services andsupport to the Sustainment Maintenance and Modification Services (SMMS) programas directed by the Systems Security Engineering Chief Product Owner (CPO)Collaborate with hardware engineers, softwareengineers, software assurance engineers, systems integrators and test teamssupporting the development, testing, installation, and deployment ofcyber-compliant solutionsSupport the establishment, installment, andenforcement of security architectures; integrate new architectural featuresinto existing infrastructures; design cybersecurity architectural artifacts;perform architectural analysis of cyber security features and ensure thesuccessful integration of cyber-compliant solutions into system as is and tobe technical baselinesProvide systems security engineeringrecommendations, develop cybersecurity assessment plans and cybersecurity testplans to ensure proper system hardening and to resolve/overcome integration andtesting issuesAssess and mitigate system securitythreats/risks throughout the Operations, Maintenance (O) and Sustainmentlife cyclesContribute to the security planning, assessment,risk analysis, risk management, authorization and assessment and cybersecurityawareness activities for all facets of the Missile Warning, Missile Defense andSpace systems and networking operationsEnsure system security needs are established andmaintained for O and Sustainment upgrades, operations development,security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis,systems design, security test and evaluation, assessment and authorization,systems hardening, vulnerability, testing and scanning, and configurationmanagementWork within an Agile methodology to completeassigned stories and tasks to meet program feature and increment milestones andoperational fielding timelinesSupport deployment activities in the TestDevelopment Facility (TDF) and/or onsite as necessaryAssesses system vulnerabilities and generatesmonthly Vulnerability Status Reports/Cybersecurity Verification Results asrequiredQualificationsBachelors degree with 4-8 years of relatedexperience; Masters degree with 2-4 years related experience, or 8 years ofrelated experience in lieu of a degreeActive DoD Secret clearance with the ability toattain/maintain a Top Secret clearanceDoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II (Security CE, GSEC orsimilar)Security engineering skills with a workingknowledge of cybersecurity technology and DoD/Federal cybersecurity policy(i.e., CNSSI 1253, DoDI 8500.01, NIST SP 800-53, etc.).Hands-on experience with Windows and Unixoperating systemsUnderstanding of networking, subnetting,firewalls, NAT, ACL's, etcExperience with MS Office suite of tools (i.e.Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Familiarity or experience with Agile softwaredevelopment methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFePreferred Qualifications:Active DoD Top Secret clearanceACAS/ Nessus / Security CenterSTIG/SCAP compliance scanning and implementationHBSS (ePolicy Orchestrator, McAfee Antivirus,HIPS, Policy Auditor, RSD)Prefer DoD HBSS Administrator trainingSPLUNK (Or Equivalent SEIM / Log Aggregationexperience)Experience programming in C, C , C#, Ruby,Perl, Python, SQLProficiency in writing, editing, executingscripts on Windows, Linux, UNIX systems is highly desiredFamiliarity with RMF and eMASS a plusFamiliarity with the NORAD-NORTHCOM and UnitedState Space Force (USSF) Missile Warning and Space Surveillance/SituationalAwareness missionsPhysical RequirementsRequires sitting forextended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computerterminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due toparking availability and location of work area walking moderate to longdistances can sometimes be required.Work EnvironmentInside office/cubicle environment. Requires ability to interactprofessionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%).Equipment and MachinesRequires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, andother general office equipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of thirdand fourth generation or current state of the art computer hardware andsoftware and its ability to support specific requirements, interfacing withother equipment and systems.AttendanceAttendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 daysper week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to providecontinuous and on-going service to customers.
