This description is for a Full-time position located in Dulles, VA.Essential Functions:This position requires systems engineering expertise involving technical leadership and solution creation on programs/projects involved in the development and fielding of ruggedized and transportable communications solutions, involving:Architectural definition, including antennas and high frequency circuitryElicitation of requirements from customers and other Technical Community stakeholdersCONOPS development including system threads, User cases and user storiesSystem concept development, design, development, testing and fielding wireless communications systems and networksCustomer relationship establishment and maintenance (Build, establish, and maintain solid working relationships with Customers (internal and external))Creation, review/critique, understanding, and update of electrical schematicsIntegration and field testing of communication solutions into larger systems (networks)Hardware engineering expertise in the design, development of complex hardware systems, involving analysis, design, review/critique, fabrication, testing, and production of electronic circuity and PCB boardsSystem design and development within Linux & Windows environmentsDirection and Coordination of multiple engineering disciplines on projectsPreparation of architectural documentation, technical specifications and other technical reportsWorking with CRM tool sets (Atlassian Jira)Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the timeQualifications:Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar field with a focus on RF technology and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experienceExperience in the design and development of wireless systemsExperience performing basic RF system analysis, and communication link evaluations in support of satellite servicesStrong skills in embedded SW developmentBasic knowledge of RF and microwave test and measurement using spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzersExperience with business case development and new business supportActive Secret or above US Government security clearanceExperience utilizing Linux & Windows development environmentsPreferred Additional Skills:Active Top Secret ClearanceMust be a self-starter and able to thrive in a fast paced, small engineering team environment, which includes the design and development of solutions including real-time software, RF hardware, security, integration into diverse environments.,Experience with the development of proposals, including the development of technical volume, Cost volume, Basis Of Estimates (BOEs), and other supporting documentation for the entire lifecycle of a project.Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), on projects/programs with tools, such as JIRA/Confluence, MagicDraw, DOORS and other RM/PLM tools would also be a bonus.Ability to identify, accurately scope and estimate new efforts as neededFamiliar with one or more of source code repository toolsExperience with common engineering lab and test equipment such as, RF chambers, power supplies, volt meters, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzersExperience/Familiarity with anechoic chamber antenna measurements is highly desirable.Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, test, debugging and defect analysis, mitigation, and resolutionExperience with RF lab equipment including power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generatorsExperience with RF and EM simulation softwareSupport Sr Engineering staff with various on-going projects and system modeling effortsExperience with embedded programming is highly desirable, programming languages such as C/C++, Python is a plus.Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
