Location: San Francisco, CA Category: Faculty Positions Posted On: Tue Jul 28 2020 Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY This is an academic administrative position. The Program Chair will oversee and manage all aspects of the academic quality of the program including the program manager, faculty and teaching assistants, as well as any contractors and partners related to the program (e.g. Zijing Education Group, translators, videographers) The program chair is responsible for the quality of the curriculum and assessment of the MAAP program and for the student experience in collaboration with the faculty at CIIS. This includes: faculty and TA hiring, oversight of faculty involvement in the admissions process, faculty and TA development and evaluation, curriculum review and oversight and assessment of the program. The Program Chair will ensure that all CIIS academic policies and guidelines are followed and that students receive high quality experiences while at CIIS. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop and execute the vision of the program in collaboration with the faculty, Provost, and Vice President of Innovation and Strategy. * Recruiting, hiring and evaluation of faculty and TAs. * Managing all contractors and partnership relationships associated with the program. * Faculty and TA development and onboarding relative to academic policies, curriculum and assessment. * Review of curriculum and syllabi. * Oversight of faculty including involvement in admissions process, curriculum development, teaching, assessment and student advising. * Assessment of curriculum and student learning. * Provide evaluation summaries at key intervals to CARC or other entities within CIIS or Zijing as needed and planned. * Attend relevant meetings pertaining to the role. * Support admissions, enrollment and networking activities. * Maintain a relationship with the International Coaching Federation. * First escalation point for academic integrity questions, or concerns with faculty or curriculum. Job Requirements: * Doctoral level degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Applied Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Integral Psychology, Education) * Experience in higher education administration including but not limited to curriculum development, faculty development, program development, and assessment * Experience hiring, on-boarding and evaluating academic faculty and staff * Successful track record of teaching mid-career adults, including online * Familiarity with International Coaching Federation and ethics and practice of coaching * Clinical license or coaching certification preferred * Bilingual/Bi-cultural Mandarin/English Additional Information: SALARY AND BENEFITS Salary commensurate with skills and experience. NOTES TO CANDIDATE Working Conditions -- Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.
