Sr. Project Manager

Summary:

The Sr. Project Manager joins Penguin Computing s Project Management Office to render expert program oversight, ensuring execution and delivery of projects to clients on time, with high quality, and within budget. The Program Manager coordinates all aspects of assigned projects for a client, from inception to delivery. The Sr. Project Manager Manager works to define project management practices, establishes and manages schedules, coordinates resources across the company, and assists with project risk analysis and budget tracking. While performing standard project management practices, the Sr. Project Manager evaluates current practices to identify ways to improve efficiency and overall project execution for subsequent projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a detailed project and resource plan that includes all significant tasks and key milestones.
• Monitor hardware builds and software installation from initiation through delivery, interfacing with other departments as needed.
• Coordinate / host project meetings as needed with all stakeholders to review the project schedule and deliverables.
• Ensure all required documentation is created and controlled.
• Manage third-party providers to meet agreed upon deliverables.
• Set realistic delivery expectations with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage scope as defined by the SOW.
• Identify risks and document mitigation strategies.
• Monitor factory build process.
• Coordinate delivery to the end-customer.
• Conduct and document post-project Lessons Learned meetings and obtain feedback from the customer regarding performance improvements.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience using project management methodologies, such as waterfall, agile, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira, and other project planning and management tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must be a self starter.

Experience/Education:

• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM, etc.).
• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in IT project/program management.
• 3+ years of experience with manufacturing

Travel:

• Travel up to 30% may be required.
