By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to work in a rewarding workplace with a strong sense of community.Job Description:We are currently recruiting for a motivated and passionate Technical Writer to write and edit technical materials and communications for manuals, instruction sheets and related publications by performing the following duties.THE DAY TO DAY...Gathers information necessary to complete technical writing projects by means of any combination of the following:* Interviews personnel* Electronically manipulates CAD models to create operational and assembly illustrations* Assembles/dismantles/installs product* Observes production and developmental activities to determine operating procedure and detail* Operates product* Observes and performs procedures related to the product and product maintenance* Studies bill of materials, parts list, engineering drawings, safety standards and any other relevant documents* Reads journals to understand industry and competition* Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology* Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content; maintains parts look up formatting and adds to data base* Maintains records and files of work and revisions* Creates and/or selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate documents* Performs typesetting and laying out of material for publication* Prepares files for distribution to printerTHE QUALIFICATIONS...* Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school* Bachelor's Degree preferred* Mechanical aptitude and an interest in working with power equipment* Proficient in writing technical "how to" information, i.e. procedures, task/sub-task and steps in a document centric environment* Skilled in learning and applying a technical vocabulary* Able to be flexible and adapt to changing products, projects and priorities* Must have a comfort working with written material in various languages, but not required to read or translate documentsAbout AriensCoSince 1933, the AriensCo name has been associated with reliable, durably crafted, high-performance outdoor power equipment.
