We are growing our engineering team responsible for designing, scaling, and securing our infrastructure. Your work will be open ended, but goal directed. Position Summary:You will be a key hire to maintain & scale our backend systems that power all of Abnormal Security's product offerings. This will require balancing continuous performance monitoring, fixes, and optimizations, as well as fundamental re-architectures to handle the next 10x of system scale. Requirements: Bachelor's in Computer Science, or equivalent subject expertise in systems and infrastructure 5+ years of industry experience in Big Data and Systems infrastructure (high throughput, low latency). Deep knowledge of distributed systems, data management, and data pipelines Previous startup work experience, or working in the early stages of a product's lifecycle Strong sense of proactive ownership - taking pride and responsibility for the quality of all systems and products we deliver to our customers Expertise in industry standard software engineering practices (e.g. thorough code reviews, design documentation, system production readiness launch plans, incident management, etc.) Experience in mentoring and leading teams Nice To Haves: Experience in popular distributed frameworks such as Apache Spark and Presto in Amazon EMR, and interact with data in other AWS data stores such as Amazon S3, Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon DynamoDB Demonstrable contributions to open source projects and communities through code, documentation, and technical evangelism Demonstrable understanding of the current features and limitations of popular deep learning frameworks Familiar with Python Why Abnormal Security: Competitive pay and equity One of the most proven machine learning teams in Silicon Valley Best-in-class customer traction and growth Team-wide commitment to excellence, velocity, and customer-focus Strong growth opportunities and high ownership expectations Full medical, dental, and vision health insurance benefits Daily catered lunches and snacks Generous PTO
