This role would be based near a Dematic field office (Michigan, Ohio, Atlanta, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, and/or remote option) and would focus on managing customer requests for project changes to scope, schedule or process. Complex projects may contain or consist of complex PLC controls software, complex WMS software, high speed carton and package conveyance and sort subsystems, pallet handling systems etc. The following qualifications or characteristics are being sought for this role:* Understanding of the dynamic handling characteristics, constraints and risks associated with the wide range of materials handled within a complex material handling system, inclusive of mechanical, controls, software, installation as well as system commissioning.* Substantial and extensive experience with planning, management and execution of highly complex material handling systems. Familiarity with related installation and engineering efforts and ability to estimate costs and timing impacts.* Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities and impacts of project execution when interfacing with General Contractors, Construction Managers. Planning, Monitoring and Controlling changing parameters (scope, schedule, budget).* Ability to review detailed project schedules inclusive of all in-scope engineering, installation, and integration schedule activities as well as identifying out-of-scope milestones by others (i.e. owners and general contractors) impacting project execution, using MS Project ePM* Knowledge of 3rd party procurement including development of RFPs/RFQs, bid review and assessment, and contract award in cooperation with purchasing resources.* Experience with and execution of general processes associated with change control, approvals, and information exchange involving many stake holders, both internal and external, tracking to completion across many projects simultaneously.* Ability to comprehend the execution of activities by internal resources as well as recognize early and proactively issues that require corrective action and impact on timely execution.* Solid organizational skills to manage, track, and drive progress across many projects. Need to maintain meticulous records that are accessible and meaningful to internal teams and coworkers.* Clear effective communication with enough detail to be thorough yet concise enough to be well understood. Successfully interface with customer and internal cross functional teams.* Familiarity with construction/installation sites and participating in engineering reviews to develop solutions for customer needs as required.* Exacting attention to specifications, to verify details and steps in quoting process and properly followed and requirements are satisfied.* Ability to understand and interpret installation drawings and grasp engineering concepts to hold meaningful conversations with the engineering and installation team members.* Confidence to make presentations to internal and external customers on project status and or specific change requests.* Convey a sense of urgency in getting change requests addressed, prioritizing work and influencing others to assist as needed.* Ability to earn trust with internal and external customers by providing thorough, accurate and timely information and responses to requests.* Fulfill assignments to support achievement of the Project Management team needs, Program objectives and service level targets while delighting internal and external customers.* Ability to cause team and organizational action to mitigate scope, schedule, and cost concerns both internally and with customers.* Experience with the coordination of on-site activities involving many disciplines and (sub)contractors vying for the same space and time windowsJob Family Responsibilities:Facilitates the change management process, delivering cost and time impacts related to customer requested changes in products or processes. These requests may range from simple to complex. Supports the project/program management role (definition of schedule, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource allocation management) for projects. Acts as a functional or business process resource on projects. Supports execution of continuous improvement plans. Provide active support role in maintaining client relationships and sales opportunities. Key Responsibilities:Successfully defines work flows, jobs, and reporting relationships of a project team to obtain optimum effectiveness. Understand and affect impact of decisions on business operations internally and moreover with customer operations. Support development of departmental budgets and business plans for functional areas. Participate in evaluating and recommending changes in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility. Identify resource requirements with supporting plans and justification. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. Ownership for all issues, from commercial to personnel behaviors, in the interest of the overall success of the project.What We Are Looking ForEducation:Typically Bachelors Degree or advanced degree. Preferred to possess PMP certification or obtain within 12 months of hire.Knowledge and Experience:Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations. Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Key Working Relationships:Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts. Core responsibility for excellence in communication and establishing good customer relationships over the life cycle of projects.
