Job DescriptionPosition summary:The role of Sr. Enterprise Architect provides technical leadership and is responsible for establishing the direction for the IT architecture, standards, design and implementation approaches for the company's application systems and/or infrastructure. The Sr. Enterprise Architect creates, evaluates and implements plans and design proposals for high impact IT solutions and their use involving leading edge technologies and methods considering key factors such as their long-term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), practicality, technical limitations and criticality.From a business functional perspective the role aligns to Corporate Functions and IT, requiring prior experience in areas such as Finance, ERP solutions, Treasury, Human Resources, Legal, Audit & Compliance, Corporate communications, Marketing, Enterprise Applications, Security, Network/Hosting and customer and HCP master data management, the latter for both B2B and B2C scenarios. .Below are some of the critical areas of focus for this role:* EA Standards and Policies, including refresh and driving standardization* Cloud Strategy and blue print design for SaaS, PaaS and IaaS* Review and input to SIAM requests for new suppliers / new solution requests* EA Quality documentation and reviews* Supporting decommission of highest risk solutions in the overall technology landscape* Technology reviews and supporting the evaluation of emerging trends in the marketplace* Developing or contributing to business cases for technology investment and driving changeAdditionally key project areas for which this role will lead E2E architecture activities, including blueprinting and design are as follows:* ERP-Finance solutions (ie., Legacy apps such as JDE and other customized ERP platforms)* End User Support / Services* Enterprise Applications* Security* Networking / HostingEssential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)In alignment to EA principles and close collaboration with project data analysts, data governance leads, and other key stakeholders this role is responsible for:* Develop or lead alignment to the information management strategic goals and information architecture operating model.* In close collaboration with enterprise business and process architects, translate strategic requirements into usable enterprise information architecture.* Lead cross-project information architecture related activities involving enterprise data.* Collaborate with project-level data analysts and/or solution architects to create and publish enterprise Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) depicting the end-to-end flow of data for specific subject areas and at the holistic enterprise level.* Collaborate with project-level data analysts to create and publish Business Information Models (BIMs) for specific subject areas and at the holistic enterprise level.* Collaborate with project-level data analysts and data governance leads to define, manage and publish business glossary and data dictionary for Stryker's key data assets.* Lead the definition of integrative and canonical views of data to establish catalog of enterprise data services in the form of unified business views, or in support of convergence of information assets for data migration planning or impact analysis.* Lead the definition of technical standards and guidelines that pertain to data and information use, security, access and governance (including defining accountabilities in support of data quality mandates).* Ensure existing information assets are identified, stewarded and leveraged across the enterprise.* Create and lead alignment to enterprise information reference architecture, includes long term strategic goals and vision for data architecture and management tools and standards.* Drive change towards data-driven culture; support and advocate enterprise information management, including coaching and training.* Identify and develop opportunities for data re-use, migration, or retirement.* Monitor regulatory guidelines (such as consumer privacy issues) to determine impact on enterprise information architecture.* Monitor compliance and related guidance (such as data retention and audit requirements) to determine impact on enterprise information architecture.* Monitor emerging industry standards to determine impact on enterprise information architecture.Education & special trainings:* Bachelor's degree required* Advanced degree highly desired* Enterprise Architecture and/or management certifications highly preferred (ie., TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, CISA)* 10+ years' IT work experience requiredQualifications & experience:The successful candidate for this position will have the following experiences and expertise:* In-depth experience designing and implementing end-to-end information and technology solutions.* Knowledgeable in the design and construction of information architectures that enable well-integrated transactional, collaborative and analytic systems.* Data/information modeling expertise at the enterprise level.* Experience with Big Data technologies and solutions (i.e. streaming and pipelines) is a plus* Experience creating strategic roadmap and accompanying information architecture to streamline M&As, Cloud Compute and both foundational and emerging technologies.* Understanding of differences between relational modeling and object modeling.* Understanding of taxonomies and ontologies, as well as the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less structured sources.* Understanding of metamodels.* Knowledge of IMDBs like SAP HANA, and modern database technologies like MS Azure SQL DB, Snowflake, etc., is a plus.* Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.* Experience creating information policy to support effective design of information systems and use of information across the enterprise.* Experience with various information modeling techniques (such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams or create/read/update/delete matrices).* Excellent analytical and technical skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Excellent planning and organizational skills* Experience with Identify & Access Management solutions, Adobe AEM, Marketo, SharePoint, WebServices, mobile development, Oracle/JD Edwards/SAP ERP(s) & BI & Advanced Analytics is a plus.* Knowledge of HIPPA/Data Privacy laws, standards, and best practices a plus.Experience designing to ensure information security is a plus, as well as experience working with and designing IT controls.Work From Home: OccasionalTravel Percentage: 10%Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
