The Phoenix VA Health Care System is currently recruiting one Program Specialist in the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service in Phoenix, Arizona. The incumbent is responsible for the identification and syntheses of information needed to manage critical aspects of the Palliative Care Program with particular regard to training programs and research.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:Develop/prepare reports, collect, compile/track data and statistical information for Geriatrics Service operations as needed. Schedule, create forms for documentation, collect and/or enter data into database and send report to Program Director for compliance with duty hours on a quarterly basis. Maintain a current knowledge on procedures, policies, directives related to the Palliative Care Division as required. Establish protocols for incoming data, creates internal databases & organize written & computerized data. Maintain database of required regulatory training and certifications for research personnel with timely notification of expirations as required. Review and update website and written material for distribution to prospective candidates and medical schools on a yearly basis. Utilize qualitative & quantitative analysis techniques to formulate recommended changes to improve clinic utilization/efficiencies as required. Manage the recruitment process, program schedules and budgetary elements as required. Develop and implement systems to support required research as required. Ensure established processes are properly followed; assist and/or provide adequate training and instruction as required. Perform as service liaison with staff from other services while developing and maintaining great working relationships that encourage teamwork and/or team building as required. Request information and support from all levels of the organization, including senior level administrators as needed.
