Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Location: Fridley, MN

Shift/Hours: 1st Shift

Career Level: 1-5 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role

Education: Associates Degree or higher is preferred, but not required

Salary: $22 - $28/hr DOQ



Description:

1. Take incoming calls and e-mails from all clients, ascertain the complexity and urgency of the issue, and resolve or refer as necessary.

2. Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem

3. Monitor and resolve assigned tasks and issues. Following up with customers after resolution

4. Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal

5. Keep records of tech issues and report back to management

6. Monitor and resolve items on the dashboards

7. Assist on projects as needed

8. Visit client sites as needed



Requirements:

Technical Requirements

1. Associates Degree or higher is preferred, but not required

2. 1-5 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role

3. Experienced with Microsoft Server, Windows 10, Office apps and Office 365

4. Working knowledge of both iPhone and Android

5. Demonstratable knowledge of Microsoft networks, Active Directory, and network hardware

6. Familiarity with and ability to work on PC hardware and peripherals

Ideal Technical Skills and Knowledge

1. Office 365 and Azure administration and deployment

2. Security systems such as firewalls, Untangle, certificates, Active Directory/Azure, and Windows security settings.

3. Two factor authentication, mobile device management, centrally managed AV, patch management, and related security applications

4. More advanced network knowledge of DHCP, DNS, GPO, and other domain functions.

5. Experience working and deploying Microsoft Teams

6. Working with VoIP systems, particularly 3cx. In addition to basic administration, working knowledge of SBC, SIP trunks



Necessary Skills:

1. Ability to work with little to no physical supervision

2. Customer service focus

3. Prioritization and good organizational skills

4. A drive to learn and acquire new technical skills

5. Comfortable in fast paced environment

6. Professional and polished on calls, via email, and in-person

7. Adaptable to different client needs



Physical Requirements:

1. Able to sit for long periods of time

2. Must supply their own computer

3. Ability to work from home.

4. Must have High Speed Internet

5. Valid MN Drivers License and an insured, reliable vehicle

6. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
