Senior Transportation Engineer

Are you a Senior Engineer looking to expand your technical and management expertise in transportation engineering?  Our client is looking to onboard a Senior Transportation Engineer who will apply their engineering design skills developed to date in order to advance your knowledge of engineering theory, practical applications and societal implications into their engineering work.

Reporting to the Manager of the Transportation Department the successful candidate will be responsible for technical and management duties while engaging in multiple engineering projects from inception to completion. This will include preliminary and detail planning and design, tender preparation, construction management and post-construction evaluation. You will provide technical support to staff and other departments and management support to the Department Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting completion of Transportation Engineering and Planning projects for both public and private clients.
• Highway/road geometric and roadside safety design.
• Oversee, direct, review and provide technical input to project team work.
• Liaise and coordinate with other professionals and clients
• Management of projects including creating and executing work plans, developing and monitoring budgets, preparing and reviewing plans, reports and other deliverables.

Qualifications:

• A University Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed as a professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng. with PEO).
• Minimum ten (10) years of Transportation Engineering experience.
• Familiar with OTM Books, TAC/MTO Design Guides, HCM, ITE Manuals, Roadside Design Manual.
• Strong computer design skills including working knowledge of InRoads, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite.
• Strong Office computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
