The Business Analyst would ensure the Telesat LEO business software meets business and customer needs in operations.


The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain a Reliability Status Government clearance


The Role:


  • Understands business needs to define, document, and ensure buy-in, of highly complex or critical business and operational processes and concepts of operation
  • Discovers, defines, and documents business requirements leveraging a technical understanding of the products and services in the Telesat LEO ecosystem while also aligning expectations of commercial teams
  • Business owner of requirements for various internal and external customer facing software tools or other applications that support B/OSS
  • Identifies, develops, and documents process to ensure achievement of desired business results
  • Analyzes testing results to ensure the solution meets the true needs of the business
  • Investigates problems and develops recommendations for resolution
  • Works with systems analysts to ensure processes are feasible and robust within timeline and resource constraints
  • Partner with technical product managers, technical writers, engineering, operations, IT, and commercial teams to document procedures for internal and external consumption


Education & Experience Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in analytical field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as business and process analyst with preference in SATCOM or Telecommunication sector


Specialized Knowledge, Skills or Abilities:


  • Experience with process modeling notation such as Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and/or Event-driven Process Chain (EPC) highly desirable
  • Expert at eliciting the actual needs of stakeholders, not simply their expressed desires
  • Basic understanding of satellite communication, network and/or telecommunication technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in telecom BSS/OSS systems preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Be able to write and communicate in a concise manner to convey information appropriately for internal or external audience
  • Self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, timelines and quality of work
  • Able to manage sensitive documents and information in compliance with company policies
  • Soft skills to ensure buy-in on transformational project
  • Occasional travel, including international travel is anticipated.
  • Preference is to have this resource physically located in Ottawa
