PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

In the role of the Business Analyst you be responsible for identifying business needs of the applications, translate them into requirements, produce process models, perform sustainment duties such as monitoring problem tickets, generate statement of work etc. 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving;
  • Apply a variety of techniques to elicit and gather business and user requirements from stakeholders.  Understand business issues and opportunities.  Analyze and define both the “As Is” and “To Be” business processes and perform a gap analysis.  Contributes to estimates for the business analysis effort based on scope and complexity;
  • Identify, assess and manage solution gaps;
  • Analyze information to establish recommendations for improvements in business effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships;
  • Collaborate with supports team members to ensure effective implementation of solutions;
  • Understand the scope of a change and identify impacted stakeholders;
  • Help business with test planning and test execution;
  • Identify and communicate issues or risks impacting the scope or plan;
  • Participates in the definition and validation of solutions ensuring that they meet business needs, goals, or objectives;
  • Participate in the development and execution of implementation plans for business process and organizational changes;
  • Develop and Translate Business Process Models to Business Systems Requirements;
  • Review Aging incidents daily and ensure they are closed within their respective SLAs;
  • Review Problem tickets every day and ensure their due dates are kept current and are not aging;
  • Review the backlog item priority with business on a weekly/biweekly basis and adjust the work plan if there is any change;
  • On a daily basis monitor Problem tickets and Service request, ensure a delivery plan is in place. Frequently communicate and engage business on a timely basis;
  • Utilize JIRA for all maintenance activities and keep it up to date;
  • Continuously monitor Work orders for the team and ensure there are no delays;
  • Each Problem Ticket and ASR should have requirements clearly documented;
  • For any enhancement work that has clear articulated values from the business (ASR), ensure SOW is generated. All relevant information in SOW needs to be clearly documented;
  • Engage the right stakeholders to gather the estimates and create a schedule based on the estimates.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science or equivalent practical experience;
  • 5+ years of practical experience in business analysis and stakeholder management;
  • Experience with supporting complex, integrated systems;
  • Previous development experience in COBOL would be considered as an asset;
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle;
  • Knowledge of Testing Strategies;
  • Knowledge of business analysis best practices;
  • Team player, skilled at working in a highly collaborative manner;
  • Proven expertise in Analysis and Problem Solving;
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where continual change is routine;
  • Adaptability, agility, and ability to manage constant change through innovation;
  • Effective in learning about business domains and how they function, and then translate that learning into an understanding of how to benefit an organization;
  • Experience with applications necessary to capture and track requirements including word pro­cessing, spreadsheets, presentation software or specific requirements management tools;
  • Exposure and some understanding of current business and technology trends (ex. Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Application Integration, business rules based application development, etc.);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to capture and document elicitation results, requirements, and other information for which medium-to-long term records are necessary;
  • Understand the principals of requirements traceability and leverages their use to the level appropriate for the project.

Management Conductor Program:
