Trains non-technical personnel. Assists with tracking performance metrics. Provides guidance and support to other Engineers. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Our Product and Engineering Team practices iterative development and continuous deployment.  We work in small teams and keep our projects short and focused. Engineers rotate between projects and areas of the product to learn and take on new challenges. As a member of our Engineering Team at aiQ MLX, you'll be given substantial feature ownership, and we'll expect you to contribute product ideas as well as code. This is a Tech Lead role; you will be responsible for working with stakeholder and leading the platform technology. You can expect to:

  • Build and maintain features in our platform ranging from distributed data processing systems to in-browser data visualization tools.
  • Work with teammates to identify challenging product and engineering
  • problems and then come up with elegant solutions.  
  • Recognize weaknesses in our technology and organization and frequently tell us what we are doing wrong and why.
  • Architect and Design systems that support multiple billions of events per day and are scalable and highly available
  • Lead team of Machine Learning Software Developers

Core Responsibilities

We're not language zealots; we believe in using the right tool for the job and are comfortable with a polyglot codebase. That said, we use the following in various capacities and expect that you are an expert with some, but probably not all of these:

  • Software Development: Object Oriented Language like Java, C++ or C#
  • Data Streaming: Spark, Flink or NiFi
  • Storage: OracleDB, Hadoop, Redis, Cassandra, Druid Neo4J, Neptune
  • Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud

To be eligible for our Software Engineer opening, you should:  

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in software and system development
  • Have a track record of solving technical challenges and owning critical systems
  • Recognize weaknesses in our technology and organization, and provide constructive feedback
  • Be knowledgeable of fundamental computer science concepts.
