Job Summary

In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the design, development, deployment of a security frameworks involving PKI, Blockchain, Cryptographic Access Tokens and IoT at scale. The candidate will also interface with other developers within Comcast and industry as well as business leaders to understand user requirements and desired features.The ideal candidate will have strong experience building applications using Java, C/C++, Rust, HTML/CSS, Node JS that rely on multiple web services, IoT, home automation and wireless mesh networks that operate at scale (100’s of millions of devices and users). As a Principal Developer, you will guide the team in all technical decisions throughout the design, development and release phases. Innovation is a big part of the role as well as mentoring/coaching junior members of the technical staff.You must be able to pick up new languages and technologies quickly, be a strong team player, and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands

Job Description


  • 15+ yrs professional experience creating large-scale applications that served large customer base

  • Familiarity with common libraries and software design patterns

  • Strong background in PKI, x509 v3

  • Strong background in API security 

  • Strong background in OpenID, and JWT

  • Strong background in Java Cryptography Extensions, OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle libs

  • Experience in using java multithreading techniques for building fluid front end user experiences

  • Fluent in encryption technologies and protocols.

  • Extensive experience with: Java, HTML5, XML, CSS 3, Javascript, Jquery, AJAX and Java, web standards, browser compatibility/workarounds, accessibility laws and development techniques, HTTP and RESTful web services

  • Experience building accessible, cross-platform web sites and web applications

  • Knowledge of source control systems (GitHub, Gerrit)

  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (Jenkins, Concourse)

  • Experience in caching especially in HTTP compliant caches.

  • Deep understanding of the HTTP/S protocol

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum

  • Experience with automated web application testing tools (Jasmine, Teaspoon, Cucumber)

  • UNIX background (Solaris/Linux)

  • DevOps experience

  • Experience presenting technical material to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience mentoring junior members of the technical staff

  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows best practices

  • A strong passion for learning and adapting to new technologies

  • Ability to think critically and independently

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • AWS API’s and Serverless architecture

  • Experience with DevOps, Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery

  • Experience working with Internet-of-things frameworks or platforms (Xfinity, Nest, AWS IOT, etc.)

  • Experience building/operating applications dependent on large-scale (>10 MM users) platforms with high availability
