Job Description Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility The Business Ops Consultant will utilize his/her expertise in tools and processes to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions across all industries within Client. The key areas of responsibility are: Provide input to others in setting the direction for future processes and infrastructure changes. Work with various functions to prioritize business and information needs. Gather data through multiple sources internally and/or externally data to generate analytics in support of the business key performance indices. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Utilizing visualization techniques develop effective methods of distributing reports and analytics across multiple functions / organizations. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Support reporting and development of the Product Lifecyle Management process. Resolve any issues that arise within key analytics and reporting. Basic Qualifications The Business Ops Consultant will have the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (in business, management, accounting, economics, statistics, information science or similar). Experience with business and technical product release activities. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, Tableau), databases, programming (XML, SQL). Knowledge of statistics and proficient using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel including PowerPivot and Power Query etc.). Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills to present the analytics/reports to multiple audiences within Client. Ability to lead projects across multiple functions across Client at various management levels. Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have 8+ years' experience supporting complex businesses in the development of analytic models and reports in support of achieving the business objectives. The individual will have experience successfully achieving the position objectives in a matrixed organization dealing with many functions. The individual will also have a working knowledge of product release processes like the stage gate process. Also experience in at least one of the following fields is required: Data visualization, statistical modeling, or data mining. Background: We have a variety of applications and services deployed across a mix of cloud infrastructure platforms including AWS and Heroku and on-premise customer environments. We need someone to wrangle our production applications. Our Engineering and Production Application Support teams have built out the present infrastructure including programmatic cookbooks for configuration management, but much of our deployment and provisioning process is still manual and our provisioned resources are not being used efficiently. We would like to do more proactive monitoring and resolution of production problems before our customers are aware of them. We are looking for someone to evaluate what we have, keep what's working, and implement changes to what's not. What you need: Must have a solid background in programming principles and software design Two to three years of professional experience with one or more of the following: Java, Ruby, Go, Python (or a similar alternative language).
