Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 120-bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona. Mesilla Valley is currently recruiting for a FULL TIME Outpatient Support Staff. The Outpatient Support Staff therapeutically interacts with patients participating in specific programming and assists in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the group setting. Collaborates closely with the Outpatient Therapists to provide a therapeutic milieu under their guidance. Outpatient Support Staff are expected to use training skills consistently. Outpatient Support staff may assist in monitoring UA collections. Support Staff will be required to assist in transporting patients to and from the group setting utilizing company vehicles in accordance with Mesilla Valley Hospital policies and procedures. The Outpatient Support Staff will also assist in monitoring and maintaining patient documentation and chart organization. Job Requirements EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: High School Degree/GED plus four years experience required; Certified Peer Support Worker plus four years experience required; or Associates Degree in a Human Services field and two years experience required; or Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field and one year experience required; experience working with the target population for the specific time frame is required. Must have a current valid drivers license. SKILLS: Must have prior experience working with the target population (Substance Abuse & Chemically Dependent). Knowledge of chemical dependency signs, treatment planning techniques and response protocol. Ability to interpret signs of chemical, alcohol, substance abuse and dependency. CPR, 1st Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training must be completed within 90 days of hire date. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Ability to reach above and below the waist, turn, twist and manipulate small tools (copier, computer, telephone, calculator, safe, fax machine).
